How old?

Animated Happy Birthday Frog

Thank you Lord for the power to raise these children you've blessed me with. Today is my DDs 14th birthday and I'm amazed how fast those 14 years have gone. Everyday brings a new adventure, a new challenge, a new accomplishment and a new laugh.3

DD you are a joy when you're creative, gorgeous and lovely. I remember the awkward days of teenville and I don't wish to ever go back there. There will be hard days, but hopefully the good will outweigh the bad and you can always have a smile on your heart.

Love you smoochiedoodles!!!

HA! Waxing Star Wars

Oh my! This picture just cracks me up... but isn't that basically what we do? Wax, shave, pluck here there and everywhere, but not really everywhere!?!? LOL

Swimsuit season, gotta love it... NOT! But really... why do we all care so much? In the bigger picture, does a little hair here or there... matter much at all?!?!?

I know I care less and less everyday! but maybe thats just the old married me speaking...

Whatever! Happy Friday everyone!

How young

I think I am prone to foolishness and fads, and I don't consider myself young :) Yes, younger than some and older than some, and maybe young at heart or not... but not young, but perhaps in comparison to the Lord, we are all young, but a vapor, but a speck on the timeline of time and life itself.

I've done some dumb things... and I continue to do them. And not just me, but others around me, friends, family, coworkers, people I don't know... not to mention all the strangers on the street that drive like they're on an oval track somewhere, without traffic lights, pedestrians or cars turning this way and that.

So when will we all grow up? Maybe never... dunno, but I'm trying. I think others are too. Thanks to all my friends who are helping me along the way!

How do you spell relief?

Yesterday and today, I spelled it P-O-O-L! Ahhh... finally I'm loving having a pool. The landlord, the pool guy and I are still working on it, but it will be sparkling soon. When it is over 100 degrees, I don't much care that it isn't :)

After spending nearly 6 hours in the 100+ temps outside yesterday, I was so ready for the refreshing and I got it... I didn't even want to get out. Today either, actually!

Enjoy your summer peeps!

Wisdom from a best girlfriend

Got this message today from my girlfriend about the fact that she's taking some time off for the summer to be with her kids. "Thanks! It is really nervy and I've been really scared for a while. I just prayed for God's peace and I seem to be OK with it now. I have to trust God's plan for my/our life. :)"

Funny how you can see the wisdom or foolishness in another persons choices, but sometimes can't see it in your own.

Life is about making choices, in the moment, and dealing with the consequences. And it sure is easier with the guidance of the Lord.

You'll be OK girlfriend. "It's all good," like my other best girlfriend tells me all the time. You've prayed, done your homework, and now you can be at peace in your decision. Enjoy the summer my friend. Life is short!!!

Selective memories

I have mommy brain, but so does my mom... so I guess its OK. Sometimes I can barely remember my kids names, let alone when they got their first tooth, walked, or whatever the milestone. I was chatting with my mom today about a pivotal cutting of the apron strings moment that she and I had some 20+ years ago and she says "I don't remember my kids pain" which is probably a good thing! Funny tho that a moment that at the time, was major, is just gone from her mind. We all have moments like that, sometimes a lot of them.

I have a long-time best friend, from high school actually, who swears that I did something that she remembers to clearly as mine, but I have no recollection. Whatever! Can't cry over spilled milk now, right?

Anyway, the quote below reminds me that only my heavenly Father knows all, remembers all, and loves me anyway - what peace that knowledge brings! I don't have to remember the embarrasing high school story, the pain of my children, or whatever else. Ahhh, breathe in and out, live in the moment, and enjoy the amnesia! :)

For I hold you by your right hand— I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, 'Don't be afraid. I am here to help you'. Isaiah 41:13 NLT

Fear of DMV

No, not really fear of DMV, but fear of the power they have to get new drivers on the road. See my DS has finally started to read the driver training book and the thought of him driving is a really scary one for me. He is DS #2, so theoretically it's easier the second time around, right? Um NO! Not this time around.

See DS #2 is the middle child and has some additional challenges in his personality and brain chemistry. Add that all together and you get some pretty unpredictable, quickly changing and very complicated issues for our whole family. See this for an idea what we live.

Computing while you commute

Yes, a very mobile blog. DH drove me to and from work a while back, because my car wasn't well - now it's just for budget, convenience and a bit of control, AND I can nap, compute on his work laptop or just enjoy the fact that I don't have to jockey the traffic! Ahh, gotta love it. Increasing gas prices help influence my daily decision, get a ride or not? but today it was all about my blog! DS was helping me with it last night, but I figured out more than he did... yeah old brains :)

Blog surfing

HA! Just happened upon this blog. See, same issues, in any language, in any country (this one is from Portugal) ... I found the photos eye-catching and I can almost figure out what the blogger has to say about the photos! Hilarious!

Penny for your thoughts?

Hey, look at me GO... for a while the searches yielded OQC $0.02 each, now back to $0.01 - but every penny helps.

Rip Rip Rip

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade, right???

Or in my case, when you buy too much fabric, just rip it up - it IS therapeutic :) I am working on a project, actually about 300 of them... so just wait and see! I will post pictures (hopefully not as huge as this one) NO, not my fabric stash, mine is actually worse!

No great worries here. I am not given more than I can handle, it just feels like it sometimes, so today is nothing special... just more of the same. But it is good to be on this side of the dirt, but I also know I won't be on the other side of the dirt but with my Father in Heaven when the time comes. So don't grieve for me in this life or when I pass to my next.

"Thus the poor have hope, and iniquity shuts its mouth." Job 5:16

Forgiveness

forgiveness

I was recently hurt, somewhat inadvertently, by a friend. I knew I took it harder than it was ever meant. I wasn't sure if/when I'd be able to forgive, but after attending a womens retreat, I think I am able to forgive this person and move forward without the baggage of the hurt feelings.

He forgave us, when we weren't worthy of any forgiveness. Christ paid the penalty for my sins and I need to learn to forgive others when my feelings are hurt.

Voila! I'm here!

Frog baby

Ooh that was too easy! I'm joining the ranks of the bloggers. Is that a good thing? Well we'll see. I have visions that I'll never get here to post any updates, or maybe I'll just add blogging to my list of addictions :) time will tell.
