What Love Really Means

Loving the new JJ Heller song, What Love Really Means. Here are some of the lyrics:

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means what love really means

Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said “I know you’ve murdered
And I know you’ve lied
And I've watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you’ll listen I’ll tell you that I...

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love, the love that you never knew

God all around us

I've been enjoying my friends daily photos, so thought I'd attempt to dive back into my blog and post more regularly. Happy reading!

God is all around us, in us and works thru us. This tow truck, of all things, reminded me this morning on my dreadful commute, that I am not alone, nor do I act alone or re-act alone. What a wonderful God!

I heard this quote on K-Love and hopefully it will inspire you as it has inspired me. “If you don’t live for Jesus, you’ll live for something else. If you live for career and you don’t do well it may punish you all your life and you’ll feel like a failure. If you live for your children and they don’t turn out right you’ll be absolutely in torment because you feel worthless as a person. If Jesus is your center and Lord and you fail Him, He will forgive you. Your career can’t die for your sins. Everybody has to live for something. Whatever that something is becomes lord of your life whether you think of it that way or not. Jesus is the only Lord who if you receive Him will fulfill you completely, and if you fail Him will forgive you eternally.” from The Reason for God, by Tom Keller

A new creation!

Hope you are enjoying the new blog makeover. I'm almost never happy with stuff for long... I guess that's what I'm thrilled to read the Word, that reminds me that I am a new creation, constantly changing and hopefully improving.

Each day is a new day filled with fresh ideas, new experiences, chances for change, opportunities for growth, challenges to share, and SO much more. I'm so thankful for a clean slate in the Lord, a chance to move forward and let the past be passed.

I think of so many people that I know, and those I just hear about, who are challenged in dealing with so many life-circumstances, and I am thankful that we are only given what we can handle, altho at times our own situations seem so overwhelming.

Thank you Lord for being a firm foundation that I can stand on and know I'll be held safely.

"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:10, NLT

Strength and Peace - bring them on!

Photobucket

I could use some strength and peace at this time Lord. I was feeling quite content lately, then the world got a bit shook up (yes, I feel like I'm in a snowglobe!) :(

Actions of a persone in my life that supposedly love me and have vowed to care for me and my family have disappointed us time and time again.

I'm so tired of my own voice - hint: this is when I need to run to the Lord and hear His voice... it just feels like a hopeless (I first typed hopefully) mission.

But I do know, deep-down that it there is hope for me and my situation. It feels SO huge right now, but I know it pales in comparison to so many others current pictures of their lives.

Thank you Lord for your voice and the friendships of so many others. It all comes together for the good, even if it hurts along the way.

For the love of money!

Wow, is it ever easy to just keep spending... Christmas is barely a memory and there are just so many bargains out there... I'm staying HOME as much as possible to avoid the lure of shopping. How are y'all doing?

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15

Merry Christmas (belated)

I took a risk and gave my coworkers a very God-centered gift... some I knew would be receptive and others, I wasn't quite sure...but prayed and gave them out, asking them to open on Christmas, hoping some quiet time to reflect might help them be more receptive or at least not so pissed :) LOL... Here is the note that my out-of-the-office boss sent me :)

"Leslie thank you for your kind gift. Now maybe I know how you get through all that is thrown at you. Keep it up and I wish you all the best. Take care and thanks again. ~Larry"

I'm SO glad that I stepped out, even in my shy-way, and helped open a door for them.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:15-16 NIV

Unique Creations

Photobucket

We are each as unique as snowflakes, yet God knows every hair on our heads :) How amazing is that?!?!!? I hope that everyone took time this holiday season to thank God for all He has given us: health, family, friends, etc. IF you haven't, please do so now. Life is just too short and there never seems to be enough time to thank Him. Blessings for 2010 and beyond.

"But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." Luke 12:7 (KJ)
